鄢陵县位于中原腹地河南省许昌市东部.
鄢陵历史悠久,文化灿烂,约8000年前,先民们便在此繁衍生息.周初封为鄢国,东周平王初改为鄢陵,汉初置县,至今已有2000多年,郑伯克段于鄢、晋楚鄢陵之战、唐睢不辱使命,李白访道安陵（古鄢陵）等著名历史事件均发生于此,现辖12个乡镇,总面积871.6平方公里,耕地面积92万亩,人口62万人.
鄢陵县农业十分发达,是全国商品粮生产基地和优质棉生产基地县.盛产小麦、棉花、红薯、大豆、花生、烟叶等,花卉是鄢陵一大特色,素有“花都”“花县”之美称,享有“鄢陵蜡棉冠天下”的天然驯化基地.目前,全县花卉面积已发展到38.2万亩,品种2100多个,年产值13亿元以上,成为我国北方最大的花卉生产、销售基地和南北花卉交流中心.养殖业主要有牛、猪、羊、鸡、鸭、鸽等,是河南省肉牛、生猪生产基地.
工业发展势头强劲,依托农业资源优势,大力发展农业资源型工业,走农产区工业化的路子,现已形成纺织、食品、建材、机电、化工五大主导产业.姚花春酒业集团,年产原酒10000吨,产品先后荣获省优部优、国际博览会金奖,法国巴黎世界名优酒金奖.帅洁面粉厂、花都纺织有限公司、鄢陵水泥集团有限公司等一批企业集团的产品已成为省级和国家级名牌产品.乡镇企业异军突起,目前全县乡镇企业个数超万家,从业人员7.6万人,已成为全县农村经济新的增长点.
基础设施日臻完善.道路四通八达,供水充足,园林绿化与环境保护优良,花都庄园、温泉度假村等涉外宾馆,环境优雅舒适；在县城311国道两侧,建有2.5平方公里的经济技术开发区,区内水、电、路、通讯设施完备,功能齐全,是国内外客商投资兴业的理想场所,目前区内已引进项目86个,投资总额达3.6亿元.
旅游资源丰富,文物古迹遍布.主要有许由隐耕处、许由墓、尹宙碑、醉翁亭碑、乾明寺塔、兴国寺塔、甘罗古柏、曹操议事台,曹彰墓等.
General Introduction of Yanling County
Situated in the eastern part of Xuchang Municipality,Yanling County has a long history and splendid culture.Early in the Zhou Dynasty,it was first named Yan Country and then renamed Yanling.It has been a county for about 2000 years since the early Han Dynasty.The well-known historical events took place in the place such as the Fighting between the Jin Kingdom and the Chu Kingdom.The present county has a jurisdiction over 12 towns with a total area of 871 km^2 and a population of 600000.
As a national grain and cotton production base,Yanling is developed in agriculture with wheat,cotton,bean,peanuts and tobacco as its main products and flowers and plants as its speciality."Peerless Winterstweet",a saying well-known at home and abroad.With 50000 mus of the flower planting area and 2000 specifices and 470 million yuans of an annual production value,the county becomes the flowers and plants production and sale base in the Northern China and the exchange centre between the southern and the northern .Also as the cow and pigfeeding base,it develops the livestock with cow,pig,sheep,chicken as the main feedings.
Taking good advantages of its agricutural resources,Yanling develops energetically agriculturalized industry.By the present time it has 5 backborn industries as textile,foodstaff,building materials,machinery and chemistry.Yaohuachun Wine manufactured by Yaohuachun Drinks Group gained awards in the international fairs and in the province and ministry,In additions,many other products have been granted famous brands at the home markets.The township enterprises develops extraordinaryly rapid.One thousand and humdred enterprises with 76000 employees creats new increasing value for the county.
The construction of the county's infrastructural facilities has made a great progress.Communications are convenient,water and electricity supply sufficient,and enviroment protection high-quality.The high-tech development zone with 25000 km^2 of a land area will offer complete functions to the investors at home and abroad.Till now there are 86 introduced projects within the zone with a total investment of 360 million yuan.
Yanling County has abundant tourist resources.Among them are there Xu You's Tomb,Qianming Temple Tower,Xingguo Temple Tower, Gan Luo's old Cypress and etc.
